Production Update
Hey everyone,
We wanted to share a quick update on the ZenGrip 2 Hardshell and explain why it has taken longer than expected.
Back in February, we received the final production samples and were preparing to approve manufacturing. During final testing, we caught an issue: the game card holders inside the Hardshell were facing the wrong direction. Somewhere between development and manufacturing, the intended card orientation was lost in translation.
While frustrating, we’re very glad this was discovered before production began.
Rather than restarting from scratch with an entirely new mold, we immediately worked with the factory to develop a solution using the existing tooling. After several weeks of back-and-forth and tooling modifications, that work is now complete.
Even better, we used this opportunity to improve the design.
The updated Hardshell now features a revised game card retention system designed to hold cartridges more securely and provide a more satisfying, tactile fit.
The final updated samples are currently on their way to us, and we expect to receive them next week. As soon as we confirm everything looks and feels correct, production will begin immediately.
Once manufacturing is underway, we’ll share a realistic timeline for production and shipping.
